The Infinix Note 4 Pro comes in a unibody metal design similar to the Zero 4, S2 Pro and Hot S compared to the glossy glass finish of the Infinix Note 4. It also packs the same chip powering the base model Note 4 (MT6753), the same 5.7″ 1080p IPS display, similarly placed front mounted passive fingerprint sensor that doubles up as the home button and same software experience: XOS 2.3 on top of Android 7.0 Nougat.
The upgrades over the base model Note 4 are: the bigger battery, 4500mAh up from 4300mAh, more storage, 3GB RAM +32GB ROM compared to 2GB RAM +16GB ROM on the Nore 4 and most of all the X-Pen, Infinix’s new stylus that helps with navigation across the UI, taking notes and other functionality that we will be sure to test once we have the device in house. Early reports indicate that the stylus isn’t housed within the device itself but requires a specific case to keep it when it is not in use. I am not sure of how viable this solution is. To me, it sounds like recipe for disaster. Brace yourselves for lost and misplaced X-pens. The updated Xcharge 4.0 is here too so no more having to leave your device plugged in all night to fully charge the humongous battery on this one. We are still awaiting an official launch in Kenya and the wider East Africa after the very low key exclusive launch that was the Note 4 on Jumia although reports say we may get the Note 4 Pro sometime in August. We will update you on the availability and pricing once they are official.
